Nominations are now open for the first Awards programme that will exclusively celebrate achievements in regulatory affairs. Launched by The Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs (TOPRA), the professional association for everyone working in healthcare regulation, the 2010 awards will seek to pay tribute to regulatory professionals who make significant contributions to the delivery of safe and effective medical therapies to the marketplace.

“It is high time people in regulatory affairs saw the same type of recognition as their medical, marketing and communications colleagues. Their role in delivering excellent products to patients is just as important – just less well recognised. TOPRA is committed to promoting the profession and the Awards will celebrate all that is excellent in regulatory affairs,” says Lynda Wight, Executive Director, TOPRA.

The awards will recognise the success, talent and achievement of individuals in regulatory affairs world-wide and will culminate in a gala dinner and Awards ceremony at the TOPRA Annual Symposium on Tuesday, 5 October 2010, at London’s Hilton, Park Lane.

Five different Award categories aim to ensure people in all stages of their career and in all sectors of healthcare regulation can receive recognition. The categories are: Innovation, Inspiration, Support, Horizon and Achievement.

“I encourage individuals, teams and organizations to show their support of the Regulatory Affairs Awards programme by submitting nominations. This is our opportunity to showcase success, talent and achievement in regulatory affairs. I know we have many worthy Award winners out there!” says Paolo Biffignandi, President, TOPRA and VI.REL Pharma, CEO

Supported by a team of eminent Judges from government regulatory agencies, industry, the legal profession and academia, these Awards will confer kudos and credibility for all those that are nominated.
